YOU MADE ANOTHER YEAR
Congratulations, a huge pat on the back to you, 2016 is coming to an end and YOU made a difference! Think back a year ago, you were really stressed, you didn’t know if you were going to make your target, and somehow, during the September rush you did!!
It took me a little longer with my results only showing in November, making me feel more than just a little anxious, but I did it!!! Pat on the back for me.
It has been a very busy year for the Fat Cats and I am proud to say that I have officially been in the business of consulting for 9 months – 9 whole months, enough time to have a baby…. no, no, sorry, none of that going to happen in the foreseen or unforeseen future! But deadlines have been met, money has been made and now its time to kick back, relax and unwind – WHAT you say, WHAT – you still have loads to get through before Christmas and you are up to your eyeballs. YES, me too. But the phones have stopped ringing non stop, the traffic is quieter and I feel all round more relaxed. You should too.
If you are still at the office, this is the time to sort out your administration tasks (I haven’t done filing in months), get that database up to scratch and start your research for early next year; it will take a load off in January.
If you are not in the office, and you are lucky enough to be driving to your holiday destination, the best place to look for leads is on the road – billboards, trucks, shop windows, even car branding is becoming more popular. There is a lead in everything that we fundraisers do. December is a great time to network – at the beach, in the shops, even at your local coffee hang out (do we still hang out at coffee shops) – you will be surprised who can connect you to whom.
But most importantly, relax, unwind and spend time with your family. We are fundraisers, we do not stop but we have to make time for the most important support structure in our lives. I dare you, take three days to unwind with your children, have a picnic or feed the ducks, completely switch off; you will be amazed at the results.
On that note, I wish you all a safe and prosperous festive season and wish to thank you for your support throughout the year.
Much love andgratitude
